About the Role:

Teaching Assistants play a key role in Correlation One’s world-class data training and jobs programs. In partnership with Amazon, Correlation One is launching two training programs to train Amazon frontline workers in data skills, giving them access to new, higher-paying jobs. Teaching Assistants in this program will not just share knowledge, but also inspire a class of highly motivated Fellows.

• The Data Analytics Program is held over the course of 16 weeks on Tuesdays (3-5 EST), Thursdays (3-5 EST) and Saturdays (12-5 EST) between March 19th and August 13th (with scheduled breaks and holidays off).

• The Logistics & Supply Chain Program is held over the course of 16 weeks on Tuesdays (3-5 EST), Thursdays (3-5 EST) and Saturdays (12-5 EST) between April 4th and August 28th (with scheduled breaks and holidays off).

As a Teaching Assistant, you will provide training for participants by answering questions via live chat during lectures, and hosting one-on-one and small group sessions with ~25 assigned participants. This small participant-to-teacher ratio is critical to the experience, letting TAs develop close participant bonds. Participants in the program will have some foundational skills with Excel and general computer literacy skills but will have minimal to basic technical skills prior to entering the program. The curriculum mainly includes Microsoft Excel, with minor Tableau, SQL, and Python. We encourage applicants with skills in any or all of the above technologies.

The ideal candidate will be an excellent educator with a passion for teaching and motivating students, especially adult learners. The role is fully remote.

The mission of this program is to help Amazon Associates in entry level warehousing and fulfillment center roles upskill their data analysis abilities in order to find higher-paying positions in fields like data analysis, marketing, product, and more. Many of the participants in the program come from non-traditional educational backgrounds and low-income origins.

Core Responsibilities:

• Instruct your cohort of 25 participants assigned to you in the program; participants are sorted into 5-person Learning Teams, which work together to complete a capstone project during the course

• Attend 16 weeks of classes on Tuesdays & Thursdays (optional), and Saturdays, and contribute by:

• Answering live questions via Slack during lectures

• Individual training sessions with your participants, to clarify concepts

• Advise Learning Teams on their project work, steering them to deliver highly impactful outcomes

• Collaborate as needed with other Teaching Assistants

• The role is fully remote. Our class is taught in a “Live Online” format primarily via Zoom and Slack.

• Program dates:

• Data Analytics: March 19th-August 13th

• Logistics & Supply Chain: April 4th-August 28th

Some skills we consider critical to the role:

• Minimum 4-year college degree or equivalent experience

• Reliable, with solid organizational skills

• Familiarity with either Excel, Python, Tableau and/or SQL

• Personable, approachable, and a good sense of humor

• An affinity for communicating with others in an empathetic and considerate manner

• Proactive problem-solver, high attention to detail, and a quick learner

• Passion for building a solid business with a mission to change lives through training

Compensation:

This role offers $7,000 in salary plus a $3,000 adjustable performance bonus. We’re generous with our bonuses and offer additional earning opportunities.
