For a growing software company, Quality Assurance is critical directly tied to building trust and confidence in CDK Global’s products and services with our customers. This position is to provide software automation testing services for the industry leading Automobile products at CDK Global. Software automation engineers will work with various users and departments to determine test requirements and insure finished product matches design criteria in a devOps/Agile landscape. Additional details are included below.
Position Overview:
- Automation guidance and execution of existing test cases for product teams
- Evaluation of automation opportunities through engagement and analysis of product testing plans and resources
- This includes: Provide input to QA Automation Lead Engineer on Functional and Design Specifications.
- Work with project teams. Write project user story tests and test projects as assigned.
- Coordinate Beta testing with customers and internal departments
- Develop and execute Test Plans, Test Cases, Test applications/utilities, and automated test software and scripts.
- Assist with providing training and guidance, both to QA staff, and other departments within the company. Provide high level, specific, customer assistance when needed.
- Assist QA Automation Lead Engineer with liaison between QA project team, outside contractors and internal company areas in coordinating QA responsibilities in the QA testing cycles and the product development life cycle.
- Validate problems with products reported by customers and developers.
- Troubleshoot Error and Read Logs
- Be able to read the log to understand and pinpoint the code that caused the error
- Enter, review and update software defects in defect tracking database as required.
- Assist with project status reports.
- Promote Quality Assurance methods and procedures to other departments.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in IT, computer science or related field is preferred, with 1-3 years of directly related work experience in one of these fields (work experience may be used to in place of degree)
- 1-3 years of End-to-End Automated testing experience with a variety of frameworks (BDD/Cucumber or Robot Framework preferred)
- 1-3 years engineering experience with various programming languages (JavaScript/React/Node/python and Java preferred)
- Should be able to code automation scripts for various QA activities (Integration scripts between CI/CD tool and Test management tool)
- Focus on automated processes (Test reports, Test traceability)
- Experience with source control (Git, GitHub Flow)
- Experience in Web applications, Web services, back-end white-box testing
- An ongoing thirst for new knowledge and ideas, and a passion for software engineering as a QA Automation Engineer
- Experience working with distributed teams
- Creative problem-solving, proficient debugging and profiling
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Test management tools: JIRA, Zephyr for JIRA, reporting tools and plugins
- API testing and related tools such as Postman, Rest-assured, Soap UI
- Agile experience and knowledge with sprint cycles, sprint planning, stand-ups, functional and regression, UAT test cycles
- Eye for detail and focus on customer-centric workflows
- Excellent written and verbal English language skills
