Simulation Software Engineer – Hancocks Bridge, New Jersey

Applicant will be responsible for the maintenance and development of software utilized in a Full Scope Nuclear Power Plant Control Room Simulator. The successful candidate will develop and maintain real-time software models of Nuclear Power Plant electrical, control and fluid process systems, using commercial and custom software package. Proficiency in FORTRAN computer programming language and working knowledge of the Windows Operating system is required. Additional proficiency in C++, Visual Basic, and/or UNIX is a plus. Preference will be given to applicants with prior related experience, gained through previous employment with a Simulation Vendor, Electric Utility, Nuclear Navy or other company where applicant worked with Simulator or real-time software as part of their responsibilities. Knowledge of Nuclear Power plant system and processes is desirable. Duties will include regular verbal and written communications with co-workers, management, vendors and customers (Simulator Training Instructors), as well as detailed record keeping and documentation.

Job Specific Qualifications

Required Skills/Knowledge:

Bachelor or Science or advanced degree in any engineering field, physics, or chemistry from an accredited college, and/or equivalent education/work experience. Ability to identify and troubleshoot simulator software issues, including development and implementation of preventive and corrective maintenance activities. Available for Shift Work as required. Must meet Nuclear requirements for Unescorted Site Access.
