Job Summary:
The Network Engineer II will be responsible for the design, implementation, monitoring, and maintenance of information technology infrastructure, including physical data center and networking infrastructure . This person is responsible for implementing all aspects of the corporate network infrastructure strategy. This person will evaluate and monitor all network devices to ensure maximum reliability and throughput in order to maintain the desired availability of the corporate network.
Essential Functions:
* Maintain complex multi-site TCP/IP and VoIP networks, including LAN/WAN, Wireless, ISP, Data Center, and Network Security technologies in line with business architectural needs and industry best practices
* Ensures appropriate network and server monitoring and security systems and alerts are implemented and current
* Documents and maintains network and infrastructure physical and logical diagrams
* Drives and coordinates incident management for network related issues
* Communicates effectively and efficiently with business lines and vendor partners regarding infrastructure support and analyses
* Develops, recommends, and implements new or updated technologies and procedures to ensure streamlined, secure, and scalable networks
* Provides 24/7 oncall infrastructure support
* Lead by example and demonstrate high performance in the areas of customer service, collaboration, teamwork, reliability, productivity, and execution
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
* LAN/WAN networking including BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, VRRP, HSRP and STP protocols
* IPsec and SSL Virtual Private Networking (VPN)
* Multicast distribution with IGMP and PIM
* Fortigate firewall configuration
* A10/F5 Load Balancing
* Wireless Networking
* VOIP and virtual call centers
* Amazon AWS – VPC, VPN Configurations, Route53, ALB, ECS
* MPLS configuration and management
* Cisco switches and routers
* Network services including DNS, DHCP, SMTP, HTTPS
* Skilled with security auditing techniques and intrusion detection.
Training and Experience:
* Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
* 8+ years of experience as a Network Engineer, Technology Consultant, or similar role
* NSE, CCNP, or other industry Network and Security certifications preferred
* Experience designing secure networks, systems and application architectures
