National Network Operations Center (NNOC) Tier 1 Technician – 3rd Shift – ENG001445

Accurately monitor multiple technologies on the U.S. Cellular® voice or data network including real time alarm monitoring and ticket tracking. High call volume including ticket updates, troubleshooting and providing technical assistance!

  • ​Utilize selected network management tools to monitor, trouble shoot and restore the US Cellular wireless or data equipment.
  • Answer inbound phone calls from regional teams and LEC/vendors to bring resolution to tickets.
  • Coordinate with field associates and various U.S. Cellular departments to assist with service restoration based on alarm conditions.
  • Detail/document all network outages using existing trouble ticket system, including timely updates and closure.
  • Utilize NNOC technical/user documentation including but not limited to methods of procedures (MOP’s) and service level agreements (SLA’s).
  • Participate in available technical and personal development opportunities.
  • Handle network outages via conference bridges.
  • Provide comprehensive on demand updates for network outages!

Bachelor’s degree in a related field; or 6 years equivalent work experience in related field/industry; additional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree and must be willing to work assigned shift.

Proficient in monitoring more than one wireless / telecommunications technology such as CDMA and/or 5G. Ability to lead multiple tasks in a fast paced and ever evolving environment. Ability to work as both a good teammate and individual contributor. Functional and working knowledge of Microsoft Windows and various operating systems. Flexibility to work various shifts to support a 24 X 7 X 365 operation. Ability to be available to work weekends, holidays, and unforeseen shifts as needed.
