Hemodialysis Technician – Joliet, Illinois

We Are Hiring

AMITA is looking for a Hemodialysis Technician at their St Joseph Medical Center Joliet, in the Dialysis Unit.

  • PRN
  • Rotating
  • 7:00 am – 7:30 pm or 10:00 am – 10:30 pm (some call may be required 10:00 pm – 7:00 am)

What You Will Do

As an associate with AMITA Health, you will have the opportunity to perform and oversee hemodialysis treatment.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare patients for procedures by taking vital statistics and reviewing dialysis orders and lab work.
  • Set up and monitors equipment for procedures both during and after.
  • Note and documents patient’s condition during procedure via observation, interview and monitoring of vital statistics; reports abnormal assessment findings.
  • Obtain, processes and transports blood samples and culture specimens as ordered.

What You Will Need

Licenses/Certifications/Registration:

  • Required Credential(s):
    • BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
    • Hemodialysis Tech credentialed from the Nephrology Nursing Certification Commission (NNCC) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

Education:

  • High school diploma/GED with 2 years of experience, or Associate’s degree, or Technical degree required

Work Experience:

  • None required.
