What You Will Do
As an associate with AMITA Health, you will have the opportunity to perform and oversee hemodialysis treatment.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare patients for procedures by taking vital statistics and reviewing dialysis orders and lab work.
- Set up and monitors equipment for procedures both during and after.
- Note and documents patient’s condition during procedure via observation, interview and monitoring of vital statistics; reports abnormal assessment findings.
- Obtain, processes and transports blood samples and culture specimens as ordered.
What You Will Need
Licenses/Certifications/Registration:
- Required Credential(s):
- BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
- Hemodialysis Tech credentialed from the Nephrology Nursing Certification Commission (NNCC) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
Education:
- High school diploma/GED with 2 years of experience, or Associate’s degree, or Technical degree required
Work Experience:
- None required.
