Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) Advanced Processing Solutions is working to develop next generation high performance computing systems to meet the mission demands of the NGMS Networked Information Solutions (NIS) business. Superconducting electronics forms the core of our technology, with a focus on energy-efficient computation including our patented superconducting digital logic technology, Reciprocal Quantum Logic (RQL). On a gate for gate basis, RQL consumes orders of magnitude less power than CMOS while running at significantly higher clock speeds. Qualified individuals will join our team in mission to transform computing beyond Moore’s Law, advancing development of computer architecture, processing/memory subsystems, and large scale high performance computing systems. You’ll work in a fast-paced team environment alongside physicists, design engineers, and superconducting semiconductor foundry engineers to make these processing solutions a reality. The Networked Information Solutions (NIS) Advanced Processing Solutions business is seeking test engineers to support novel quantum device test activities. Responsibilities:
Lead and support test development activities for superconducting quantum computing
Develop automated procedures for qubit characterization and tuneup
Support the development of test platforms within cost and schedule constraints
Document test requirements and procedures
Review test plans for accuracy and completeness
Support training of junior technical staff (Principal only)
Bachelor’s degree in a technical area (BSEE or other Engineering discipline preferred) with 5 years of relevant experience with cryogenic microwave test (3 years with technical MS)
Strong problem solving and analytical skills
Ability to communicate effectively to team members both verbally and in writing
Proficiency in at least one of MATLAB, Python, C, or C++
Experience leading teams or projects
Experience troubleshooting electronic test systems
Experience with superconducting qubit test
Experience with milliKelvin test platforms including dilution refrigerators
Experience with test automation and data analysis in MATLAB
Experience with microwave electronics
Ability to adapt to changing priorities and requirements
